Honest about the ink

You own the puzzles you create. Sample dictionary entries and starter grids are for practice — do not republish them as commercial content without review. Do not rely on the app for contest adjudication.

Where are my grids stored?

Only on this device. Uninstalling or clearing app storage removes constructions, clues, and preferences. We do not host your puzzles on a server.

What does fill-heat mean?

Long slots with few crossings light up first so you query the dictionary there. It is a workshop cue, not a contest score.

How do I share a grid?

From the workshop, export a PNG snapshot (and clue text) through the Android share sheet. Sharing is your action — we do not upload the file.

Why did I see a construction tip?

Optional notifications via WorkManager rotate offline tips. Add the ClueGrid Daily Prompt widget for a home-screen prompt. You can deny notification permission; the forge still works.

The suggestor missed a word I wanted.

The bank is a seeded classroom pack (masks, theme tags, difficulty bands). It is not a full commercial dictionary. Email the mask and theme if a placement looks broken.

This policy explains how DEV-PRYDATKO (“we”, “publisher”) handles information in ClueGrid Word Forge (package com.kumetsguzakkx.cluegridwordforge).

1. Who we are

The Google Play account holder and data controller for this app is DEV-PRYDATKO. Contact: kumetsguzakkx3806@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

ClueGrid Word Forge stores grids, clues, dictionary suggestions, and preferences only on your device. No accounts, analytics SDKs, or cloud sync are required.

On-device information may include:

Grid geometry, black-square maps, fills, clues, and dry-run notes.
Challenge progress and preferences (appearance, onboarding, tip index).
Temporary PNG and text files created when you share a snapshot.

The Daily Prompt widget shows an offline construction prompt. It does not send your library to us.

Google Play and Android may process install, crash, or device statistics under Google’s policies when you use Play. That processing is by Google, not by a publisher server we run.

If Android Auto Backup is enabled, the system may include app data in the user’s backup. We do not receive a copy of that backup.

3. How on-device data is used

To run the live grid engine, suggestor, clue studio, and dry-run.
To keep your library and challenge progress.
To schedule optional local construction tips (WorkManager).
To refresh the Daily Prompt widget.
To export a PNG and clue sheet when you choose Share.

4. Permissions

Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS). Optional offline construction tips. You may refuse or later disable them. The forge still works.

PNG export uses Android FileProvider so another app you pick can read that one file. We do not browse your photo library or contacts.

Sharesheet exports you initiate may leave the device through the app you choose. That destination’s privacy rules then apply. We do not intercept that transfer on a publisher server.

6. Retention and deletion

On-device data remains until you delete a grid, clear app storage, or uninstall. To remove support email we hold, write us and we will delete correspondence that is no longer needed for a support thread, subject to any legal retention duty.

7. Children

The app is a hobby and classroom construction studio. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a child wrote to us by email, contact us and we will delete that mail.

8. Your choices

Use the app without an account.
Deny notification permission.
Delete grids, or clear storage / uninstall.
Email us about support mail we received.

Depending on your country or state, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Because we do not run a user-account backend, most in-app data is only on your device — you control it there.

9. Terms of use (short)

ClueGrid Word Forge is provided for educational and hobby crossword construction. You own the puzzles you create. Sample dictionary entries and starter grids are for practice and must not be republished as commercial content without review. Do not rely on the app for contest adjudication. Use at your own judgment. Seed packs credit public-domain classroom word lists curated for fairness drills.

If the app later adds network features or a new store listing, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date.
